C-GEM’s science was written about in a Nature Technology Feature about genetic code expansion. In particular, the article featured collaborative work from the Chatterjee lab and Schepartz lab discovering a tRNA synthetase from Methanomethylophilus alvus that can accept non-α-amino acids bio-orthogonally in E. coli and developing a method to computationally identify non-canonical monomers that best fit the ribosomal active site.
