C-GEM brings polymer science to Atlanta Science Festival

MaryAgnes Balogun (graduate student) sits at C-GEM’s booth, ready to answer questions about polymer chemistry.

On Saturday, C-GEM helped kick off the 12th annual Atlanta Science Festival at Georgia Tech’s Celebrate STEAM day. Over 5,000 attendees came to Georgia Tech to try hands-on activities for all ages, covering topics like robotics, biology, space, art, and more. Our booth featured MaryAgnes Balogun (graduate student) and colleagues from the Champion lab presenting our “Pasta-mers” activity—a hands-on activity demonstrating how polymer sequence informs shape and function. Try pasta-mers yourself at the link below.

The Atlanta Science Festival features 100+ events over the course of two weeks that showcase world-class learning and STEM career opportunities in metro Atlanta.
