This week, Managing Director Sarah Smaga attended the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) conference in New Orleans, LA. In addition to connecting with new and old colleagues, Dr. Smaga advertised opportunities at C-GEM for undergraduates, postbacs, and postdocs, and served as a poster judge.
The NOBCChE Annual Conference “provides opportunities for networking and mentorship between students of all levels and professionals” and “creates a venue for scientific dialogue through technical programming, as well as personal and professional development for students and early/mid-career professionals.” NOBCChE is celebrating its 50th anniversary – over the past five decades, the organization has sought to “build an eminent cadre of successful diverse global leaders in STEM and advance their professional endeavors by adding value to their academic, development, leadership, and philanthropic endeavors”
