C-GEM is looking for our next Education, Outreach, and Diversity Manager! The position is based at UC Berkeley, where the ideal candidate will work closely with Director Schepartz and Managing Director Smaga.
The Education, Outreach, and Diversity Manager manages education and outreach programs of the NSF Center for Genetically Encoded Materials, a federally funded collaborative research center. The EOD manager oversees the implementation and evaluation of existing C-GEM programs and contributes to the development of new programming. Programming includes externally focused community outreach as well as internal programs for C-GEM members. Notable initiatives include: community outreach, C-GEM’s online presence, summer undergraduate research, and graduate and postdoc career development. The EOD Manager is critical in unifying individual activities at different Center sites into a larger programmatic structure. Additionally, the EOD Manager advises Center leadership on practices to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the C-GEM team.
